How long have you been in Sonoma County?
“I’ve been in Sonoma County now for 35 years. There have been times where I’ve left for very brief moments, and I always came back. There’s something very special about being here. The whole family has been here.”

How did you get into the mortgage business?
Joe was at Sonoma State finishing a finance degree in 2008, which is roughly the most dramatic possible moment to be studying money. The market was coming apart in real time. He landed at a big bank in the middle of the wreckage and discovered something unexpected: this work was a fit. It required real financial skill, and it put him next to people during one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
16 years later, the degree and the crash both turned out to be the setup for the company he runs today.
Why did you start your own company?
“When I started my company, it was all about planting roots. Strong, planted roots puts you in a position where you can grow.”

We help people buy homes and get financing for their homes.” The simple version, as Joe calls it. “Really, all I want is connection and a desire to help other people, because there’s a deep trust that I have that by doing that, your life is going to be really good and everything will work out fine.”
